ADRIAN (AP) -- Prosecutors say Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm has received paperwork necessary to extradite a 39-year-old Michigan man charged with parental kidnapping in connection with his three missing sons.

Lenawee County Prosecuting Attorney Jonathan Poer tells The Daily Telegram of Adrian that Granholm's office confirmed receipt Monday of paperwork required to make a formal extradition request for John Skelton of Morenci. Poer said Ohio officials should receive the paperwork this week.

Skelton remains held in a Toledo jail on a $3 million bond after he declined last Wednesday to waive extradition. He faces a Dec. 14 hearing.

Skelton's court-appointed attorney, Merle Dech of Toledo, declined comment to the Daily Telegram.

Nine-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner Skelton last were seen on Thanksgiving. Volunteers have searched southern Michigan and northern Ohio.
