(AP) -- DETROIT - Detroit Mayor Dave Bing says he plans to seek another term in office.
The former NBA great said that he "can't fix the problems that the city has in one term." He says progress is being made in improving the city but there is "so much more work to do." He says voters will decide whether they're satisfied with his work.
The next Detroit mayoral election would be in 2013.
Bing first was elected in May 2009 to complete the term of ousted Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. He was re-elected to a full, four-year term in November 2009.
