Another murder investigation will go to trial in the case of Elias Abuelazam, the suspected serial stabber.
The family of one of the victims brought his ashes to court saying he needed to be there.
Stephanie Ward, sister of 49-year-old Arnold Minor says, "We thought, you know, it's more than right for him to be here with us going through this."
Police found Arnold Minor stabbed and bloodied lying on the northbound side of Saginaw Street in Flint August 2nd.
Friday in court witnesses recounted what they saw and Minor's family had to relive it.
"His last words, 'Help me, I'm dying.' It's just, for a person to...what kind of person can do that to another human being?" said Ward.
The family thought it was cold for Elias Abuelazam to have a blank expression on his face while hearing the horrific details.
Medical and scientific experts took the stand recounting what they determined.
Dr. Allecia Wilson, deputy medical examiner for Genesee Co. says, "There were two stab wounds on the body, one over the right side of the chest and one on the right side of the abdomen."
Police talked about Abuelazam's luggage taken from a Louisville, Kentucky, airport which contained shoes and jeans that experts say had blood on them.
Kristin Schelling, from the Michigan State Police Lansing lab says, Tthe major contributor to that DNA profile matches the reference sample from Arnold Minor."
A friend of the suspect's family said he sold a green Blazer to Abuelazam's uncle, who he said then gave it to Abuelazam. George Joubran, the family friend, says he recognized a photo of the Blazer. "The dent of this right here is when I backed up with the trailer. I made that dent. There are two new bumpers when he bought it from me," says Joubran.
The judge said there was sufficient evidence and bound the case over for trial.
Abuelazam's attorney also waived his right to a preliminary examination on the charge that Abuelazam assaulted law enforcement while in jail.
His next court date is January 3rd.
