FLINT -- The Flint Police Department teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club Saturday to help feed the hungry.
Volunteers say 70,000 pounds of free food was distributed behind Flint City Hall.
Teens were given an opportunity to understand the value of community service, and police say they were able to give back to their neighbors.
"We get so much going on all the time; we see the need in the community. So therefore we partnered with them to try and help the needs of the people in our community," said Flint Police Chief Alvern Lock.
More than 200 families were provided food.
