IMLAY TOWNSHIP -- A man walking to a friend’s house New Years Eve is struck by a car and dies in Lapeer County.
Michigan State Police say the accident happened on M-21 east of Cedar Road in Imlay Township.
Police say just before 1:30 a.m., 43-year-old Rene Norman Anzures was walking to a friend’s house when a woman driving a Ford Taurus hit him.
Police say Anzures was wearing dark clothes and walking in the roadway at the time.
He suffered trauma to the front of the body.
Police say the driver has not been charged.
The crash is under investigation.
