FLINT -- For one Clio couple, 2011 started off with an unexpected bang.
NBC25 talked to the mom and dad who got to Hurley hospital just in the nick of time.
New Year’s Eve, this Clio couple was relaxing.
“We were at home eating spicy salsa and pizza,” said Clio resident Sara Urmanic.
All of a sudden Sara Urmanic began having contractions.
“I was trying not to panic and hoping it wasn't a false alarm, I said I don't want my husband to take me to the hospital and then they send us home,” said Sara Urmanic.
But Sara’s husband Cliff took her anyway, and just in time.
“It’s kind of nerve-wracking, you got her yelling at you, and the doctors yelling at you,” said Sara’s husband, Cliff Urmanic.
In just 20 minutes, Landon was born at 12:08 a.m., making him the New Year’s baby for Genesee County.
“I was shocked, we are a week early, and I didn't expect it to happen on New Years like that.
Landon weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces and is 19 and 1/2 inches long.
“For being a couple hours old, he's perfect, ready to eat and take a nap,” said Cliff.
“He's very quiet, he sleeps a lot, he does not cry, he is a little mouse," said Sara.
Landon is the Urmanic's 4th child.
“Football team is ready to go, for sure, time for a mini-van,” said Cliff.
But Sara says it’s time to get some rest, and to get to know her new bundle of joy.
“I saved the best for last I guess, he was easy, quick, got the job done,” said Sara,
“It’s just a wonderful experience for everybody, to bring a new life into the world, and to give them the best life you can possibly give them is a blessing,” said Cliff.
This couple started 2011 off on the right foot.
The Urmanics say Landon's nickname is twitter, because he likes to flutter his feet when it’s time for a feeding.
