The State of Michigan recently approved funding of $10 million for Delta College’s long-awaited Allied Health Building Renovation project.
“We’re very pleased that as we move into our 50th year of serving the needs of students and the community, Delta will be able to enhance that learning environment for our students enrolled in health related programs,” said Jean Goodnow, Delta College President.
The upgrades to facilities will support Delta College’s Allied Health and Nursing programs. Specific program elements affected include Radiology, Microbiology, Dental, Nursing, Respiratory Therapy and Surgical Technology. Other elements of the project will include a Health Promotion and Awareness Clinic, Multi-Discipline Simulation Rooms, Critical Care Simulation Area and Multi-Media Laboratory/Video Slide Room.
Delta will begin raising the remaining half of the construction costs. About 30 percent of Delta’s nearly 16,000 students are enrolled in health-related programs.
