Man pleads guilty in attempted murder of 2-year old

BAY COUNTY -- 28-year old David Andrew Delacruz-Slavik pleaded guilty Monday in federal court in Bay City for attempt to commit murder and assault against a child.

Investigators say on October 30th,  Slavik strangled, bit and repeatedly punched the 2-year old victim causing life-threatening injuries. The incident happened on the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Reservation in Isabella County, less than two months after Slavik was sentenced for child abuse of the same 2-year old.

No date has been set for sentencing. Slavik faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years to life in prison
