SANILLAC CO. -- A 56 year old man is in serious condition after being trapped under a fallen tree.
The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department reports that Thomas Roberts, of Palms, was planting trees on his property Tuesday morning when the tree in the loader fell out and landed on him. Roberts was on a skidster at the time, and was trapped beneath the weight of the tree.
Farm workers were able to lift the tree off Roberts, but he was still pinned under the skidster. Authorities were able to get him out. He was taken to a Deckerville Hospital for treatment and later transported to St. Mary’s Hospital. He suffered serious injuries in the accident.
