CLARE CO. -- The man who allegedly threatened to kill a Farwell school employee has been arraigned.
Shawn Harmon pled not guilty Thursday morning in the 80th district court to a charge of telecommunications service / malicious use.
Liaison Officer Erica Vredebelt says she was on the phone with a parent, discussing an alleged criminal sexual conduct case. Vredebelt then says, “in the background over a speaker phone, the mom's boyfriend said if any deputies come here, he'll take care of them, then he'll go to the school and take care of me.
Vredebelt called the Clare County Sheriff, put the high school on lock down, and the elementary and middle schools in secure mode. Authorities were able to track down and arrest the suspect.
Harmon has a preliminary exam scheduled in regards to the alleged phone call on January 26th.
