(AP) -- An 18-year-old Michigan woman, her ex-boyfriend and his neighbor are due in court for a pre-trial hearing in a knife attack that left her adoptive father dead and mother seriously wounded.

Tia Skinner, 19-year-old Jonathan Kurtz and 18-year-old James Preston are expected to appear Monday in St. Clair County circuit court in Port Huron. They face murder, assault and conspiracy charges in the Nov. 12 attack on Paul and Mara Skinner in the couple's Yale home, about 85 miles northeast of Detroit.

A prosecutor has said Tia Skinner was angry at her parents for forbidding her to see Kurtz and confiscating her cell phone after finding texts from him declaring his love for her. Authorities say

she helped plan the attack, which was carried out by Kurtz and Preston.
