Police say icy roads caused accident that killed Burton woman

Burton Police say icy conditions appear to have caused a deadly accident Saturday. 

The crash happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Belsay Road south of Potter when a van hit a pole off the side of the road.

Police tell NBC25 the 62-year-old Burton woman driving died.  An 83-year-old passenger suffered critical injuries.  Two other passengers were treated and released. 

Police shut down Belsay Road in both directions for several hours while they investigated the tragic crash.
