DETROIT (AP) - Detroit's police chief says four officers including a commander were wounded when a gunman walked into a police precinct and opened fire.
Chief Ralph Godbee says the four do not have life threatening injuries, and it appears all of the officers will be OK.
The gunman opened fire in the Detroit precinct on Sunday.
Officers returned fire, killing the man. Godbee says police have identified the man but just were starting their investigation and didn't immediately release his name.
Godbee says the commander was shot in the back and was in critical condition. A female sergeant was shot in the chest, but was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Godbee says another officer was in temporary serious condition after being grazed in the head and a male sergeant also was grazed in the head.
