NBC25 is proud to say, one of its own is a member of the defending world class snow sculpting competition championship team out at the Zehnder’s Snowfest.
You can find NBC25 Graphic Artist Scott Kallas, Al Foster, and Gordon Oberman next to Zehnder’s this year working on their eagle sculpture. It features a massive majestic bird that just caught dinner.
They say they enjoy winning, but it is not what motivates them to compete. They are in the competition because they enjoy creating, camaraderie, and the crowds. They love to hear comments of admiration as folks walk by during the festival.
Foster says the comments from kids in the crowd are fun to hear, and often help him predict whether he has a winning sculpture.
"They don’t lie, that’s for sure.”
