PORT HURON -- A woman says she was asleep in her home when broke in, held a knife at her throat, and sexually assaulted her.

Port Huron Police report it happened at 2:12 a.m. Friday in the 1100 block of Cypress. The victim stated she was asleep when a male subject came up from behind her and put his hand over her mouth as he held a knife to her throat. The victim was then sexually assaulted. Afterwards, the man ran away from the home. A K-9 unit searched for the suspect, but never found him.

The suspect is believed to have entered the home through an unlocked door. The victim has been medically treated and released.

The suspect is described as a taller white male with a muscular build. He was wearing blue jeans, a dark hooded jacket and camouflage gloves. No further description is available at this time.
