suspected lab located next to school and church
BAY CITY -- Neighbors along the 300 block of South Mountain Street in Bay City said they were shocked to learn of a suspected methamphetamine lab, in what looked to be an ordinary family home. “I was floored. I could not believe something like that was happening in our neighborhood,” said Leo Thiel who lives across the street.
On Friday, Bay City Police and the Bay Area Narcotics Enforcement Team raided the house and arrested a man and woman who neighbors say live there. Three children were taken into the custody of Child Protective Services.
“They got the hazmat crews in white suits and masks and they just swooped everything out and put it up on the curb. They had it sitting on the street almost all day and the hazmat crews (came) later and they put everything into buckets and hauled it away,” Thiel added.
It is not clear if more arrests will follow. NBC25 will continue to follow this story.
