SAGINAW CO. -- In 2010 alone, there were 7,262 reports of child abuse to the Saginaw County Department of Human Services. The Child Abuse and Neglect Council (CAN Council) says more than 1,000 of those cases were tragically found to be true.
The CAN Council offers a safe-haven for children who have been abused. The organization also works to prevent other abuse situations in homes around Mid-Michigan. But, the cost of such an endeavor is enormous.
That’s why the CAN Council is holding the 18th Annual Mardi Gras- themed Auction at Apple Mountain.
At this formal event, people from around Mid-Michigan can taste the exquisite cuisine, while helping save a child from a life of abuse and neglect.
The event will take place Thursday, February 24th from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The cost is $50 per person. There will be a silent auction, featuring items such as sporting event tickets, jewelry, wine and more.
NBC25 will be live at the event. Please come by to say hello, and meet Jenny Suniga, Mark Torregrossa, and Dillon Collier.
