BAY COUNTY -- A Bay County man is being charged for a shocking crime.
On March 12, 2010, an 11 month old baby was taken to the Bay Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for severe injuries. Hospital employees realized the seriousness of the situation, and immediately reported the injuries to the Sheriff’s Department.
After months of investigations, the Sheriff’s Department arrested 27 year old Mark Phillip Townsend for allegedly sexually molesting the child.
This week, the Bay County Prosecutor issued First Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, First Degree Child Abuse, and Assault with Intent to do great bodily harm (less than murder) in connection to the case.
