The Genesee County Sheriff’s Department tells NBC25 a Saginaw County woman died in a crash on I-75 Southbound in Vienna Township Saturday evening.
Investigators shut down I-75 for hours while they collected evidence from the crash scene between Mount Morris and Vienna Township Roads. Accident reconstruction experts will use the evidence to determine exactly what caused the tragedy.
The accident is one of dozens in Genesee County Saturday night. Icy roads formed as roads soaked by rain earlier in the day turned to ice.
At I-75’s exit 108, North Holly Road, Genesee County 911 reported conditions so slippery cars started sliding backwards on the exit ramp.
