Stocks rise as oil prices lower

Oil prices are slightly dipping, causing stock numbers to rise.

Oil prices fell 0.4 percent, bringing the cost per barrel to $105.

CNN Money  reports gas prices have risen over 15 cents per gallon this month due to the turmoil in Libya.

The up and down in the gas realm is clearly reflected in the stock market.  As prices took a slight drop today, the market gained. Here’s a look at some of the top closing numbers:

  • The Dow closed at +124.35 (12,214.38)
  • Nasdaq finished at +20.14 (2,765.77)
  • The S&P 500 ended with +11.69 (1,321.82)
  • Oil closed at -0.54 ($104.90)
