In Burton, the fire department is clearing the way for a new Fire Station Two.
Crews took down a home on the property to clear the way for a new state-of-the-art facility.
Fire officials are excited about what the facility will be.
"It's going to be an innovative station. It's going to be a green station. We're going to be LEED certified, which means it's only the second LEED certified building in Genesee County," says Burton Fire Chief Doug Halstead.
LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environment Design.
The new fire station two will be triple the size of the old one and feature geo-thermal heating.
