NBC25 got a call from a concerned crane operator about a radio tower that appeared to be on the verge of toppling over.
Our crew decided to check it out.
It can be seen at the Wirt Stone Dock in Bay City. A maintenance person there told NBC25 he’s been told the radio tower is scheduled to be taken down in a few days because it is in disrepair. A chain has been attached to a weak spot, and it is secure.
“It could be a very serious issue if that comes down,” said one concerned neighbor who did not share his whole name. “A lot of structural damage could come from it."
He said he is concerned strong winds could bring it down.
