School bus driver passes out, crashes while kids are on board

JUNIATA TWP. -- Update: March 31st, 1:40 p.m.

The driver, Paul Daily, has been listed as in stable condition, and has been transferred to a hospital in Saginaw.


A bus driver passed out and crashed into a ditch while students were on board Thursday morning.

The Tuscola County Sheriff reports that Paul Daily, 63, was driving on Ringle Road near Ball Road in Juniata Township around 7:30 a.m., when he suffered a medical problem, and blacked out.

The bus went off the road and into a ditch.

Five children were on board the school bus at the time of the crash. Fortunately, they were not injured. 

Daily was taken by ambulance to the Caro Community Hospital for treatment. There’s no word yet on his condition.
