U.S. Rep. Dave Camp (R-Midland) announced today that Christian Knutson of Saginaw received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

“I’m proud to announce Christian’s appointment,” Camp said. “Should he accept this appointment, I know he will serve our state with distinction. I wish him the best as he completes his high school career.”

Knutson maintains a 4.0 GPA at Swan Valley High School, is a drum major of the band and has competed on the Varsity Track and Field team. His extracurricular activities include being a member of the National Honors Society, two-year president of student government, and earning his Eagle Scout award

The Academy accepts approximately 1,000 students per year. Upon graduation from West Point, she will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the United States Army.
