Proceeds go to benefit cancer research
FRANKENMUTH -- Get our your acid wash jeans and mullet wigs, Frankenmuth is getting ready for "Bringin' Back the 80s" this weekend. But the event has a special cause you may not know about. Proceeds go to cancer research in honor of Jill Zehnder who died of cancer in her 40s. Her daughter Jeanna is an organizer.
"It's a ton of fun about 70 percent of the people dress in 80s clothes, it's a good cause and it's a good time," she says. The event features live bands, breakdancing and even a Rubik's cube competition. Tickets are ten dollars and if you want to get them ahead of time there is a pre-sale at seven eleven in Frankenmuth.
Jeanna says they are expecting about 10,000 people this year and have even added a 12,000 square foot tent to help accommodate the extra people.
There will be live 80s music, breakdancing, and even a Rubik's Cube contest. For more details, go to the event website.
