If you’re trying to dodge the orange barrels this construction season, MDOTmay have a solution.

They’ve uploaded the annual highway construction map called “Paving the Way” to their website.  It’s designed to help drivers to pin-point where major construction projects are taking place.

They’re also posting the map at welcome centers, rest areas, MDOT Service Centers, and MDOT region offices. If you’d like to order a copy, you can call the MDOT Office of Communications at 517-373-2160 or send an email to mdotwebinfo@michigan.gov.

In a press release, State Transportation Director Kirk T. Steudle stated, “"MDOT is committed to keeping motorists informed about our major construction projects for this season with our annual map. No one wants to waste time and energy stuck in traffic, so we hope motorists will use this information to plan ahead. We also want to remind everyone to slow down and pay attention while driving through construction work zones."

You can find the interactive map and more information on construction projects across the state by clicking here: www.michigan.gov/drive.
