NBC25 spotted several stations in MidMichigan selling a regular gallon of self-serve gasoline for $4.17. Most of the Speedway stations across MidMichigan reflect that price.
At Richfield Road and Center Road, where the City of Flint, Burton, and Genesee Townships meet in Genesee County, gas was still selling in the $3.70's before noon Monday.
NBC25 saw few people filling up at the stations were fuel is more than $4 a gallon.
Some people blame bad economic policy, inflation, investors, or greediness for the high cost of fuel.
With gas prices more than $4 a gallon will you be changing your summer destination plans?
Meanwhile in Bay City, NBC25’s Dave Kinchen stumbled upon what seems like a great deal in gas, considering the current $4.17. Try $3.91 a gallon for unleaded regular! The location? Not one but two Admiral gas stations on Euclid Avenue in Bay City. Several lines formed at both locations with drivers eager to cash in.
“When you see up the road a little ways it’s $4.17, yeah it’s 26 cents. It’s worth waiting in line,” said Tom Matuszewski who was driving through the county. “Now everyone’s in line, I’m sure it’s going up,” said Mary Ann Revard of Essexville. “I’m retired and live on a fixed income. I can’t even drive my car very far,” she said.
NBC25 tried to talk with one of the gas station attendants but they were too busy activating pump after pump for a constant flood of customers.
