NEW YORK -- According to NBC affiliate WNBC in New York, a mother is suing an anti-abortion organization for using her daughter’s photo on a protested billboard.
Tricia Fraser tells the news outlet the group “Life Always” used her six-year-old’s image in a way that was, “defamatory, unauthorized and offensive." The billboard stated, “the most dangerous place for an African American is in the womb."
NBC25 earlier covered the story of the billboard when it was taken down after protestors called it offensive to African Americans.
This controversy came around the same time a Flint Area Right to Life Billboard was banned from going up in Genesee County. CBS Outdoors didn’t allow that billboard due to a controversial quote by Planned Parenthood Founder Margaret Sanger.
In the New York case, lawsuit information states that the photograph was legally obtained, but the mother argues that the image was illegally used in a defamatory way.
