DETROIT -- Several Delta Air Lines employees are being investigation for allegedly smuggling drugs from Houston and Jamaica into Detroit.
According to the Associated Press, twelve people are being investigated for shipping cocaine and marijuana on planes to Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
NBC25’s sister station in Detroit, WDIV, reports the group was marking luggage containing the drugs with an X. Investigators began looking into the case in early 2010 in Jamaica. During the investigation, authorities found several suitcases with about 284 pounds of pot heading to Michigan.
Delta has suspended the suspects without pay while the investigation continues.
