LANSING -- Petition language has been approved in an effort to recall Governor Rick Snyder.
Friday, The Washtenaw County Board of Election Commissioners approved the Michigan Citizens United request, According to the Associated Press. The article states that the group now needs 806,522 legal signatures to be able to put the recall on the November ballot.
Gov. Snyder’s budget proposal has outraged thousands across the state. Receiving the most attention are his plans to cut education and per-pupil funding, tax pensions, and his move to place an emergency financial manager in place. Union leaders say the governor has undermined voters’ rights.
Supporters of the budget argue that the state needs to make these harsh cuts in order to chop the increasing deficit.
