GENESEE CO. -- The Crim Foundation and Safe & Active Genesee for Everyone are encouraging people to participate in Smart Commute Week.
Smart Commute Week is designed to get people to walk, bike, take the bus, or carpool to work and/or school. To get the competition going, Safe & Active Genesee is awarding prizes to the companies that have the most participants.
The competition takes place May 16th through May 20th. Here’s the competition calendar:
May 16: Mass Transit Monday
Meet a friend at the closest bus stop and ride to work together.

May 17: Two Wheel Tuesday
Ride your bike to work. Live too far? Load up your bike, park at a convenient spot and ride your bike the rest of the way.

May 18: Walking Wednesday
Walk with a co-worker to a meeting or lunch.

May 19: Take a Friend Thursday
Arrange to carpool with friends or co-workers.

May 20: Favorite Way Friday
