The founder of 'Big Johns Steak and Onion' has died

FLINT -- The founder of Big Johns Steak and Onion has passed away at an assisted living home.

John E. Klobucar died May 9th at Hyde Park Assisted Living, according to his obituary.  A Funeral Mass was held Friday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Flint.

The obituary reports John was born in 1922 in Minnesota, and moved to Michigan after serving in the Navy.

He founded Big John’s Steak and Onion in Flint in 1973.  He also owned the first Kentucky Fried Chicken franchisee north of Detroit.
