Blaine Stevenson, 9 yo., NBC25 Great Kid of the Month
Blaine Stevenson, 9 yo, is NBC25's Great Kid of the Month for May. He attends Northbranch Elementary School and enjoys spending time at home with his family. He is the man of the house and says he loves mowing the lawn for his mom.
Blaine is also a member of the Wheelin Team 457 organizatioin. The Wheelin Team provides the physically challenged with indoor and outdoor sports and recreation.
"Some have no legs and arms and some got in car accidents and are paralyzed," Blaine said. "One of them has spina bifida."
Michele Clemens, Blaine's mother says, "the biggest thing I see in Blaine with the Wheelin Team is that he doesn't recognize a wheelchair anymore as something that holds someone back."
Clemens says her son is a well rounded person with a big heart who wears his emotions on his sleve.
As NBC25's Great Kid of the Month, Blain wins a one night stay and four pack of passes to enjoy Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark at Boyne Mountain.
