DETROIT -- The Detroit Bomb Squad detonated a suspicious package that was left at an Internal Revenue Service Building Wednesday morning.
NBC25's sister station, WDIV-TV, reports someone called 911 around 7:00 a.m., saying there was a suspicious package in front of the downtown building. When investigators arrived, they found what appeared to be a backpack.
The bomb squad destroyed the package in case it was dangerous. However, the Associated Press is reporting that after detonation, investigators only found clothing inside.
Police are continuing to investigate.
