A local attorney and civil rights activist was shot and killed inside his own home.
Fred Robinson, who's been practicing law since the 1950's, was found on the 1800 block of Brookside Drive in Flint around 11:45 Friday night.
The community is shocked by this crime.
Flint Mayor Dayne Walling says, "C. Federick Robinson made this community a better place; his tragic death is a tremendous loss to the Flint community."
Flint attorney Frank Manley says the death of Fred Robinson is a "horrible, horrible thing." Manley says there is no reason why anyone would want to do this. "He made me laugh. He made everyone laugh. He was that kind of character. He had the Louis Armstrong voice and an amazing personality that most people don't have anymore," says Manley. "He had great character and was not intinimated in the courtroom. But at the end of the day, he was just a nice guy."
Robinson represented Flint Mayor Don Williamson in 2005 when Williamson and the city council fought in court over the direction of the city.
Anyone with information on Robinson's death is asked to call Flint Police or Crime Stoppers.
