Mayor Virg Bernero's daughter faces drug charges.
LANSING -- Mayor Virg Bernero’s daughter is in trouble with the law after police found marijuana in her car after pulling her over at a traffic stop.
The Lansing State Journal reports Kelly Bernero, 23, refused a breath test when she was pulled over for speeding in East Lansing on June 13th. Authorities found a small amount of pot in her vehicle. She now faces misdemeanor charges for impaired driving and possession of marijuana.
The Associated Press reports she has since apologized for her actions and “accepts responsibility.”
Kelly is the oldest daughter of Virg Bernero, last year’s Democratic nominee for Michigan Governor.
