BAY COUNTY -- Marcie Rousseau, the former Freeland teacher who has been sentenced in one county for having sex with a student, will go to trial in Bay County for another alleged criminal sexual conduct incident.
Rousseau’s attorney attempted to have a change of venue, and move her trial to Flint or Detroit because of the media attention. However, this week Judge Thomas Ludington ruled that the case will remain in Bay County.
Rousseau was sentenced in December 2010 for having sex with a 16-year-old student. She will spend at least15 years in prison for crimes committed in Saginaw and Midland counties.
Police believe she may have also had sexual encounters with the boy in the Bay County area.
In total, officials believe Rousseau had about 100 intimate meetings with the boy.
A sentencing date for the Bay County charges has not yet been set.
