MTA blames the loss of millage money and high gas prices for the rate increase.
The MTA is hiking their prices starting July 1st.
Mass Transportation Authorities says while more and more people are using their services, they’ve taken a hit due to the economy, and are forced to up the cost for Primary, Peak, Regional, and curb-to-curb services. The company says they’ve taken a $2.6 million hit over the last two years. They say the loss of millage money and the increasing cost of diesel fuel has played a role in the increased fares.
