This fall, college students of Michigan's 15 public universities will pay more than twice as much as students paid 10-years ago.

It'll take about $5,000 extra out of their pockets.

Governor Rick Snyder warned higher education about raising tuition more than 7%, and it looks like Michigan universities are obeying that but barely.

Snyder said universities would face an even bigger cut than the proposed 15% if they raised rates higher than 7%.
