GRAND BLANC -- Granny’s going for the gold in this year’s Great Lakes Regional Championships at Rollhaven in Grand Blanc.
Monday, NBC25 stopped by the rink, and found people of all ages dressed in all the gold and glitter, competing for the prize.
70-year-old Mary Logue of Youngston Skate Club in Ohio says she loves skating. “It’s a good exercise, and you meet a lot of nice people.”
73-year-old Thomas Beverage from Westlake Ohio says you’re never too old to skate. “I will stay in this probably until I can’t skate anymore,” he stated.
The events are going on now through Wednesday. Doors open at 6:00 a.m.
Spectators are welcome to watch the competitions. It costs $8.00 for a half day, $10.00 for a full day, and $30.00 for the whole week.
