Out of all 50 states, Michigan tipped the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) top 10 scale.
Before you have that extra scoop of ice cream or lather on the BBQ this summer, you might want to know some statistics about Michigan being one of the fattest states in the country.
Out of all 50 states, Michigan tipped the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) top 10 scale. A recently published report says 30.5% of adult Michiganders are obese.
While the Great Lake state’s adults are more heavey-set than other states’, fortunately the childhood obesity rate isn’t as large. Michigan placed 41st on the over-weight children scale, having a 12.4% rate.
The TFAH has performed a study on obesity across the nation, looking at what groups are more likely to be overweight and other factors. You can find that full report by clicking here.
In the meantime, we want to know why you think Michigan is more overweight than other states. Leave us your comments below.
