To commemorate its 84th birthday, the convenience store chain plans to give away close to 5 million FREE Slurpees on its "unofficial" birthday. Some people recognize the day at 7-Eleven Day.
According to 7-Eleven, the company sells enough Slurpees each year to fill 12 olympic swimming pools. The free Slurpee tradition began in 2002 with 7-Eleven's 75th birthday. 7-Eleven has more than 41,000 stores located all over the world.
