Severe Thunderstorms in Mid-Michigan

Severe Thunderstorms pounded Mid-Michigan Monday morning.

The Fenton Fire department believes a fire at the Silverlake Hills Apartment complex Monday morning was caused by lightning. Two people were in the building when the flames erupted, but fortunately no one was injured.

In Cutlerville, a 38-year-old man died after a storms knocked down a tree onto his garage, according to the Associated Press.

Areas from Detroit to Saginaw were under Severe Thunderstorm Watches until the lunch-time hour.

The heat and humidity accompanied showers, storms and strong winds.
