Before we talk about what’s to come in our own backyard, let’s take a look at what’s happening around the globe. By now, everyone should be familiar with the financial issues going on in Greece, especially because their politics of procrastination go hand in hand with the U.S.’s tardiness. The original rescue plan for Greece was put together last year. Their goal was to get enough cash from a European Union rescue program to get them through 2011, buying them enough time to get its house in order so it could start to finance its debt from private investors again. Well, call it what you will, but the plan has already begun to fail. The crazy part? Efforts at a new rescue package simply call for funding and support from the European Union, European Central Bank and the International Monetary until 2013 or 2014 when, hopefully, Greece will be able to sell debt in the markets again.
