Oscoda County law enforcement has reported to the National Weather Service that two people have been killed and one person has been injured after being struck by lightning.

Authorities say the people were exiting the ASable River near Mio as storms were moving in.

The two deceased are 54 year old women from Lewiston, Lisa Mann and Cheryl Nickert-Keyser.

They were tubing on the Au Sable river and were taking shelter when the lighting hit them.

57-year-old Robert Mann of Lewiston is in intensive care at St. Mary's in Saginaw.

The report was at 3:21 Saturday afternoon near Mio.
