It's one of those topics that really gets parents going, and one where everyone seems to have an opinion!

Do you or don't you let your kids climb into your bed?

For years parents were told that sharing the bed was a no-no. So much so that parents who do share the bed often keep it a secret.

A new study from a group of researchers from Columbia University suggests that the practice may not have any negative long term affects at all.

In most of the world, sleeping next to your child is a necessity: families of limited means live in cramped quarters. But in the affluent West, the practice is widely frowned on, not just by grandparents and friends, but by the medical community at large.

It is more common than many people may think. Nearly 13 percent of parents in the United States slept with their infants in 2000, up from 5.5 percent in 1993, according to a report last month in the journal Infant and Child Development.

We want to hear from you about his issue. What are your feelings about "the family bed" or sharing the bed with your kids?
