Bomb threat at veteran's hospital

SAGINAW -- NBC25 has learned that there was a bomb threat at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, located at 1500 Weiss Street in Saginaw, around 7:05 a.m. Wednesday. The hospital received a phone call, stating there was a bomb at a specific location of the facility. The medical center immediately went into action, and evacuated the area, and notified authorities. In total, 49 patients, and 237 staff members were moved out of the building.

Michigan State Police conducted a search, and everyone was allowed to return back inside around 10:00 a.m.

Officials are reminding residents that hoaxes are a criminal offense, and will be fully prosecuted.  Law enforcement officials are continuing to this particular hoax. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers.
