Central Michigan University has resumed talks with the union.

Central Michigan University could have a strike on it's hand as students get ready to start classes next week.
Monday night in a closed door meeting 97% of the Faculty Association voted to support a strike if necessary to cause the administration to bargain in good faith. This
"The FA membership made it clear tonight that they have full confidence in the FA Bargaining Team to make the best determination regarding future job actions," reported FA President Dr. Laura Frey.
The FA has been without a contract since June 30th.
Negotiations began in April but stalled in July. Frey says the FA bargaining team has remained willing to meet at anytime with the administration team and made that offer again after tonight's meeting.
"The administration walked away from faculty when they left the bargaining table on July 14th. In walking away from faculty," Frey reports, "this administration walked away from the best interest of students."
School officials say they are ready and willing to meet to agree on a contract. They also say despite the problems with negotiations they expect classes to start on time next week.
