DETROIT -- Just weeks after visiting a plant in Holland, Michigan, President Obama will return to the Great Lakes State to speak at Detroit’s annual Labor Day festivities.

NBC25’s sister station, WDIV-TV, reports Pres. Obama will arrive in Michigan on September 5th to attend the event sponsored by the Metro Detroit Central Labor Council.

The Detroit Free Press reports that Pres. Obama’s visit could draw in more than 100,000 people to the parade and activities, that’s double the normal attendance.

The White House isn’t providing any further details about the visit yet, but the Free Press believes he’ll take the opportunity to discuss his role in the revitalization of General Motors and Chrysler.
