“Buy now!” The phrase heard over and over on the Television advertisements that leaves viewers secretly pondering whether that latest and greatest device they’re pitching really works.
The Better Business Bureau says often those “As Seen on TV” products are too good to be true, leaving consumers with an empty wallet and a useless device.
The BBB states buyers should beware before they “Call Now.” The BBB says, “the first thing consumers should know is that the tagline ‘order in six minutes’ is because dopamine, which stimulates excitement factor in the brain drops in five to six minutes. With that in mind, infomercials have to sell you their product within a certain timeframe…”
While some of them are scams, some TV commercial products actually do work. So, the NBC25 Morning Show team has decided they’re putting those products to the test. As a new product comes out, they’ll test it live during the show, to see if it really meets customer’s standards.
In the meantime, we want to hear from you. What “As Seen on TV” products have you purchased? Did it work? Tell us about it here or on the NBC25 Facebook page, and be sure to tune in as we test some of these products.
